Columbia rush press release
Feburary 21st, 2022
We are excited to announce that the Wilson’s Fitness Center has approved to make the MAC the home of Columbia Rush.
Fahmi Elshami, Columbia Rush President, officially signed the Licensing & Services Agreement with Missouri Rush. “It feels good to be back in my hometown. I’m thrilled to be in a position to provide amazing opportunities to the kids here in this community” claimed Fahmi.
“We are pleased to have Fahmi back with the Rush. He is an extraordinary person and on top of that he is an excellent Technical Director and will help the club move along in an expedited way”. – Tim Shulz, Rush Soccer President
Fahmi started his soccer journey here locally at Rock Bridge High School. He then moved on to play collegiate soccer with an additional 10 years of professional experience. He has traveled all over the world mentoring players and coaches, as well as educating various countries on youth development through soccer. He has been a part of Rush for almost 15 years and founded one of the first Rush Soccer clubs in Georgia. He is now back home to bring his experience and expertise to where it all started!
In addition to Wilson’s Fitness, we will also be partnering with Parisi Speed School to give our members access to qualified physical trainers that will give them the special attention necessary to enhance their opportunities at the next level. Parisi Speed Schools use a curriculum based in science and sports psychology to help every athlete reach their potential.
Rush Soccer is a nationally and internationally recognized soccer organization with over 40,000 players in 55 affiliate clubs across 33 states in the U.S. and another 52 clubs in 43 countries across 6 continents. Rush Soccer’s objective is development of a national level club cooperative system that offers substantial opportunities for national corporate sponsorship and foundation support, provides the framework for a national coach and player development network, and serves as a significant pool of talent for consideration by European, MLS, NCAA, US National and Olympic soccer programs. At Columbia Rush we strive to develop our players to have opportunities to play at any level.
We are using a phased approach in the transition to Columbia Rush, beginning with youth recreational leagues starting April of 2022. Competitive soccer will begin in the Fall of 2022. In the meantime, we will be hosting continued specialty skills clinics to get kids prepared for summer tryouts. Visit www.comorsuh.com for additional information and registration.
With so much change happening so quickly there are certain to be questions. We have scheduled an informational session open to the entire public of Columbia Missouri on March 10, 2022. Be sure to connect with us to receive updates on time and location of the event.
We look forward to working with all of you to continue to provide all our children with the highest quality soccer experience.
